Paradox Builds Up 1 Million Cities: Skylines Sales

Publisher Paradox is celebrating a sales milestone for Colossal Order’s city building simulation, Cities: Skylines. The title, which was released just over one month ago has sold 1 million copies worldwide.

In addition to developing a healthy fanbase in its opening month, Cities: Skylines has attracted a large community of modders. To date, over 33,000 mods are available for the title via the Steam Workshop. For example, one clever tinkerer introduced a helicopter that players can pilot.

Our Take
Industry climate can help a great game make a bigger mark. After the disappoint of Maxis’ recent SimCity, its no wonder that people are flocking to a game that honors that series’ traditions. This is a big win for Paradox and Colossal Order.
