Sega Pulls Broken PS4 Alien: Isolation Patch, Suggests Workaround As New Update Is Developed
Yesterday, we reported that a new Alien: Isolation patch had unintended consequences, breaking the game for some PlayStation 4 players. Sega has pulled the patch from the PlayStation Network and is working on a new one to repair the damage.
"We’ve discovered an issue with the latest patch (v1.02) for Alien: Isolation on PS4, where some users are having difficulties with playing Mission 5," developer Creative Assembly writes on the game's forums. "We’re currently working with Sony on a fix and will have that available as soon as possible."
Additionally, the studio suggests a workaround for those who installed and are having problems with patch 1.02. You'll need to uninstall the game (be sure to preserve your saved games), reinstall, and then download and install patch 1.01 from the network.
This will revert the game, which means you'll likely experience the cutscene problems patch 1.02 was intended to repair. A new patch is due soon. We'll update once we have more information.

Our Take
Unfortunately, there isn't an easier workaround to revert the game to its previous state. Thankfully, for those willing to go through these steps, there is a way to continue forward.
