Update For Alien: Isolation Creating Its Own Problems On PS4
Game updates are ostensibly to fix and make the game better, but sometimes things don't always go as planned. Alien: Isolation developer Creative Assembly recently put out Patch 1.1 for the game on Xbox One and PS4, but this has caused some unforeseen problems on the latter console.
The tweet via the game's official account acknowledges that the 1.1 patch – designed to improve the playback of cutscenes – has caused its own problems on the PS4. These included reports of game crashes and broken saves.
We're aware that some people are experiencing problems on PS4 with Patch 1.1. We're looking into it now and hope to have an update shortly.

Our Take
There are a lot of moving parts in games, and it's not surprising that something unexpected like this would happen. In a larger sense, it makes me want to take my system offline so my system isn't auto downloading patches before I know what their effect is. But then that would be living in the past, wouldn't it?
