Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga Now Available On PSN
The PlayStation 2 game, Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga, is now available as a digital download on PlayStation Network. The game takes place in a wasteland called The Junkyard, where tribes of people who can transform into rampaging beasts vie for territorial control and the ultimate goal of gaining passage to Nirvana. Only the champions of The Junkyard can reach this hallowed place.
Digital Devil Saga is the first part of what ended up being a two-game series alongside Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. Here's hoping Atlus has plans to release the second chapter on PSN soon.
Speaking of waiting for the PS Store to update, here's a reminder today is also the launch of SMT:Digital Devil Saga as a PS2 Classic on PSN

Our Take
I reviewed Digital Devil Saga when it released in 2004, and praised the story for having a, "bewitching charm that compels you to stick around until the credits roll," but criticized the gameplay – namely the high encounter rates and repetitive battles. Overall, I thought it was a decent experience. The dark story, which basically boils down to apocalyptic cannibalism, is the star of this show.
