More Layoffs At EA, This Time Analysts And Internal Reviewers
Game Informer has received word that EA has orchestrated another round of layoffs. This time, the company made cuts to its internal analysis and reviews team.
This staff in this group are responsible for studying Metacritic trends and offering up critical response before titles get in the hands of journalists. This allows EA (and other publishers that employ similar departments), to get a feel for sales and reception before the titles arrive on store shelves.
First word came from now-former employee Kat Bailey, a games research analyst according to her LinkedIn profile.
@atweetingtwit Whole department just got cut. :(

It's unknown how many people were included in the department Bailey refers to or how many were let go. These additional cuts follow the publisher's most recent financial earnings call, during which it was hinted that the full extent of planned layoffs had not yet been realized. EA decline to comment on the matter.
