Final Fantasy Versus XIII Becomes Final Fantasy XV, Drops PS3

Update: At a Q&A session this morning, Final Fantasy brand director Shinji Hashimoto clarified that the name change for Final Fantasy Versus XIII also comes with another alteration: It is a next-gen exclusive. The title, which was previously only announced for PS3, is now dropping off that system and finding a home on PS4 and Xbox One.

Square Enix's long silence regarding the status of Final Fantasy Versus XIII just started making a little more sense. The title has officially changed to Final Fantasy XV.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII's long development has left many fans of the series with questions...and in a video, director Tetsuya Nomura promised more info in the coming days. But for now, the knowledge that the project is alive and well is great news.
