Age of Empires II and its expansion, The Conquerors, has received the HD upgrade treatment, and the game is available now on Steam.

You can head here to grab the game. The developers are assuring that the game is exactly the same, only with new visuals. According to the game's FAQ page, the game can also be played on the Surface Pro tablet, but mouse and keyboard are still the preferred method of play.
