Weekend Warrior 8/10/12

by Jack Gardner on Aug 10, 2012 at 02:00 PM

This weekend shenanigans are afoot. Jeff M. talks about playing his favorite game, Kyle watches baseball, and Kim suffers from an acute onset of “Too Many Great Games” Syndrome.

Jeff Marchiafava: I’m on vacation all next week, so the only game I’ll be playing at the cabin with my family is going to be Float In A Pool And Drink Beer. Luckily, that’s my favorite game, and I’m quite good at it. I think I may even be able to set a high score this year. Michael Phelps ain’t got sh** on me.

Ben Hanson: This weekend I’m going to act like a big dumb idiot. I’ll probably spend a bunch of time pooping in my pants, and then I’ll cry a bunch. I also plan on playing Go by myself, even though I don’t know any of the rules and end up eating all of the board pieces. I’m soooo stuuupid! (Note: Ben Hanson’s Weekend Warrior may have been written by Jeff M)

Kim Wallace: I recently got the “The Guild,” expansion for Munchkin, so provided I can find enough people, I’m going to test it out. I’m still working my way through Dream Drop Distance and Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time. Also, my new computer is calling me to play Gray Matter. So many games, so little time!

Ali Rapp: It's just me and my cat Carl this weekend, so I'll be hanging out with some of my grad school buddies, brushing up on my Japanese (classes start up again in less than a month. Blargh), and trying to finish up my replay of Okami. I can't tell you how much I love the combat system on the PS2 version compared to the Wii version. It's so much more fluid and responsive.

Kyle Hilliard: My father is in town to steal away my sister back to South Carolina, who came up to Minnesota to do a summer internship at the Illusion theatre. We’ll probably be checking out a Twins game before he leaves tonight, and then the rest of the weekend is relaxation, and making sure the newly mobile 10-month old doesn’t get into too much trouble.

Jack Gardner: I’ll be making a foray into the world of Exalted, a pen and paper RPG that I’ve spent the last two weeks preparing for. Other than that, I still need to see The Dark Knight Rises. As far as games go, I’ll be delving into Jade Empire and making more progress in El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron.
