Battlefield 3 Best In Show, EA Wins Big At Gamescom 2011

The winners of the previously revealed Gamescom 2011 award nominees have been revealed. Battlefield 3 took home top honors as best in show, and the PlayStation Vita emerged as the most coveted hardware.

• Best at Gamescom: Battlefield 3 (EA)
• Best Hardware or Accessory: PlayStation Vita (Sony)
• Best Console Game: FIFA 12 (EA)
• Best Mobile Game: Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Sony)
• Best Online Game: Star Wars: The Old Republic (EA)
• Pest PC Game: Diablo III (Blizzard)
• Best Browser Game: The Sims Social (EA)
• Best Family Game: Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster (Warner Bros.)

It should be noted that Electronic arts is responsible for securing four of the convention’s eight awards. That's half, for you folks that don't like the math. I can hear the champagne fizzling all the way from EA’s offices. Also, it appears a lot of people are champing at the bit to play Uncharted: Golden Abyss on the Vita.
