What Is Final Fantasy Type-0?

Siliconera has dredged up another trademark filed by Square Enix, this time for a game called Final Fantasy Type-0. Found in the European trademark database, Square registered also registered a logo, seen above.

Square Enix is holding a press conference in Japan on January 18 – the Square Enix 1st Production Department Premiere – and is expected to showcase its Fabula Nova Crystallis titles along with other key products. New games are to be announced, so perhaps we will hear more about this title then.

No other information is available, but the speculation has already begun. Will Type-0 be a core game? A spinoff? A mobile title? Something else entirely? Share your thoughts below.
