GameStop: Kinect To Outsell Move
Anyone with a friends list can confirm this anecdotally, but GameStop VP of marketing Bob McKenzie added some weight to the Kinect side of the holiday 2010 motion control wars. "I'd say right now Microsoft's Kinect is looking to be the winner of the two for us," McKenzie told Eurogamer. "We're very happy with the sell through over the weekend. It has met our expectations and actually exceeded our initial forecasts."
This comes as no surprise, as Microsoft recently boosted its 2010 sales expectations for Kinect. Sony, meanwhile, has not come out swinging with the kind of Move numbers that can rebut the surging device's momentum.
Personally, I just wish I could play Kinect without having to put an addition on my house. Thanks a lot, Microsoft. Now I'll never dance like Annette.
