Codemasters Not Purchasing APB, But Its Corpse Remains Valuable

by Tim Turi on Nov 06, 2010 at 07:00 AM

APB is a dead game, and its developer Realtime Worlds has shut down. Despite the MMO shooter's demise, elements of it still remain attractive to other developers, according to Codemaster Online's general manager David Solari. Despite that, the Codemasters representative says the company isn't picking at APB's corpse right now.

"Somebody will... If they don't pick up the game then they will pick up the technology for sure, because the avatar and character customisation technology is incredible," Solari told Eurogamer. "Something will definitely be done to preserve that."

He also insists that the game could be turned around and become profitable with nine months of hard work. However, Solari insists that Codemasters won't be the one to do it.

When asked about rumors of Codemasters picking up the remains of APB, Solari said "We have not picked up APB. I can answer you definitively. We haven't picked that up."
