Microsoft Raises Kinect Sales Expectations Just Before Launch

by Phil Kollar on Nov 03, 2010 at 08:35 AM

Microsoft was already planning a pretty huge launch for their new Kinect device, originally projecting three million in sales by Christmas. Apparently the growing pre-launch hype has not been lost on them, though, as they've now raised those projections.

According to Bloomberg tech reporter Dina Bass, Microsoft is now expecting to sell five million Kinect units by Christmas, a number that would make it "the biggest Xbox product launch ever in terms of sales, according to Microsoft's Don Mattrick."

With the add-on officially launching in North America tomorrow, we'll hopefully start hearing about sales numbers soon. In the meantime, do you expect Microsoft to live up to these lofty expectations?
