Epic Unveils First Unreal Engine 3 Game On iPhone

by Bryan Vore on Nov 02, 2010 at 12:50 PM

Chair Entertainment, known for XBLA hit Shadow Complex, is handling dev duties for Infinity Blade, a medievel action/RPG published by Epic Games. Apple heads will remember when this was first announced at September's Apple press conference with the tentative title, Project Sword. Now we have the real name and a release window!

If you've downloaded the free Epic Citadel on iPhone, you already know how awesome Unreal Engine 3 looks on iOS. Now you'll be able to play an actual game this holiday season on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

Infinity Blade is focused on sword fights and seems to be set entirely in a castle. Players will level up and earn special items along the way, eventually taking on the villainous God-King.

Game Center support has been confirmed and eventual multiplayer support will allow friends to battle each other.

No pricing or exact date has been revealed, but Epic did promise free expanded content via downloadable updates.
