Homefront Novel To Coincide With Game

by Matt Miller on Oct 25, 2010 at 10:25 AM

Celebrated screenwriter John Milius (Apocalypse Now, Red Dawn) is helping to pen the book that will release alongside THQ's near-future military shooter.

“We’re delighted to confirm the first element of what will become a vast transmedia strategy for Homefront,” explains THQ's Danny Bilson in a recent press release. “John Milius has already worked with us extensively on the Homefront game, and we’re thrilled to have him and Raymond [Benson] on board as we develop our near-future world into other types of media. Random House is a great partner to help us reach an even broader audience.”

The new novel is written by co-authors John Milius and Raymond Benson, an author who has previously worked on licensed novels within the Metal Gear Solid and James Bond universes. Random House will publish the book under their Del Rey imprint around the same time as the Homefront game releases this coming March. While plot details of the novel remain undisclosed, the game is better understood. Homefront will jump into the future year of 2027; America has fallen to a united Korean Republic, and the military is in disarray. Players join up with the resistance to fight back against the occupation.
