Silicon Knights Lets You Choose Your Destiny With X-Men: Destiny

by Ben Reeves on Oct 07, 2010 at 08:30 AM

As was pretty common, we spent our formative junior high years trying in vain to manifest mutagenic powers. We may be just ordinary flatscans, but we can still live out our dreams thanks to Activision’s upcoming X-Men: Destiny.

At this year’s New York Comic Con, Activision announced that it was working with Silicon Knights (Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, and Too Human) on a new X-Men title for home consoles. Destiny will put players into the role of a new mutant who joins the X-Men. Reportedly the game will feature a branching storyline that players will be able to steer through their in game choices.

In the tradition of all recent Marvel games, Destiny will be penned by a well-known comic writer, in this case X-Men: Legacy writer Mike Carey. Attendees of New York Comic-Con, which is going on now through October 10, can get a sneak peek of the game in Activision's booth, #1833.

We don’t know if this will be similar to Raven’s past X-Men: Legends titles, or if it will be a new kind of gameplay experience, but we look forward to finally getting a chance to manifest our mutant abilities.
