[Update] See The Ico And Shadow Of The Colossus Collection In Action

by Annette Gonzalez on Sep 16, 2010 at 02:46 AM

At a Team Ico meeting during Tokyo Game Show, Fumito Ueda gave us the scoop on what we can expect from the long rumored (and now finally confirmed!) HD versions of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus for PS3.

  • Ueda admits that he was not happy with noticeable framerate issues that appeared in sections of the PS2 versions of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, and now with the PS3 port he assures a smooth experience
  • Both games will be 3D compatible. Ico and Shadow were always 3D centric in their design, especially when depth perception is considered, so it seems to be a natural step and Ueda says he's pleased with the results
  • The European version of Ico was released after the U.S. version and received a different ending. The European ending will be included in the PS3 version of Ico for the full experience
  • Ico and Shadow will be reframed for widescreen
  • Both games will feature trophy support
  • Unlike in Japan, both games will be sold as a collection on one disk come spring 2011
