Kids Are Embarrassed To Play Wii According To Take-Two

by Ben Reeves on Sep 15, 2010 at 09:45 AM

Do you blush when friends see your Wii? If so, you’re not the only one. Take-Two’s CEO Ben Feder recently admitted that his son is embarrassed to show off his Wii to friends. Is the PlayStation 3’s Move the solution?

Feder recently gave a talk where he admitted that his son didn’t like bringing his friends over to play Wii because it isn’t an HD system, and he suspects that there is an entire generation of gamers who feel the same way, and that they will likely move over to the Move and Kinect in a few months.

"What Sony and Microsoft have really done with Kinect and Move,” says Feder. “is provide a bridge for guys that are used to playing the Wii system with the wand and bringing them over to a HD system. The PS3 with Move, in my view, is the Wii HD system. I think maybe Mom isn't playing, but the kids are 'graduating,' and Microsoft and Sony have both provided a bridge to bring them over."

Feder went on to say, "I do believe Nintendo did widen the audience; I can't tell you how many people are going to 'graduate,' but I do believe they raised a generation of kids to play videogames that are now growing up and wanting a true HD experience."
