Deus Ex: Human Revolution Coming February 2011?

by Adam Biessener on Jul 20, 2010 at 09:00 AM

Several retailers are listing February 2011 as the release date for the upcoming Deus Ex: Human Revolution from Square Enix and Eidos Montreal.

Steam, Amazon.com, and Gamestop.com all have the game shipping in February. Amazon's page has a disclaimer that the listed information is "estimate only and subject to change," but three stores all showing the same date is enough smoke to hint at a legitimate fire behind it all.

February feels like a reasonable release window for Deus Ex, which isn't trading on a blockbuster name like Gears of War or Call of Duty, and could benefit by not being smothered under the massive marketing blitzes that will accompany those October-November launches. If this turns out to be true, it'll be another positive sign for the industry getting away from the holiday crush under which so many second- and third-tier titles have suffered.

Square Enix representatives have yet to respond with an official comment, so Deus Ex: Human Revolution's release date is still officially TBA.
