The Great Gatsby Finally Gets A Game

by Ben Reeves on Jul 15, 2010 at 04:50 PM

Game Informer’s yearly April Fools insert, Game Infarcer, has a long and storied history of being clairvoyant. This year we looked into our crystal ball and saw a video game version of The Great Gatsby, and what do you know? Seems like we were right on the money. I-play recently released a point-and-click adventure based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel.

We’re not exactly sure how much fun a game about a reclusive rich bootlegger could be. Sure, Fitzgerald’s novel is a classic, but unless running over women with a car is your idea of fun, what kind of gameplay elements can you really draw out of the novel?

As for Game Infarcer, what crazy future reveals will it predict next? What about Kanye & Lynch 3: Dog-Eared Dayz, a new buddy criminal game from IO Interactive staring Hip-Hop artist Kayne West? We’ll just have to wait and see.
