Schafer To "Keep My Mouth Shut," But Talks About Double Fine Projects

by Matthew Kato on Jul 15, 2010 at 07:14 AM

Yesterday the story broke about Tim Schafer's candid comments about Activision CEO Bobby Kotick (including Activision's response). Today, at the Develop conference in Brighton, England, Schafer was in a more contrite mood as he addressed the audience about his company Double Fine.

"That was an accident," he said, referring to his comments on Kotick. "I was going to change the title of my talk to: 'How to Give Interviews and Remember to Check the Microphone is Off.' I need to keep my mouth shut."

While he isn't talking anymore about Activision and his views on Bobby Kotick, thankfully Schafer did talk about four new projects the developer is working on. Each one is headed by a different producer who was a team member on Brutal Legend, and each project is a smaller-scale game. Although Schafer didn't give much detail on the titles, he did say that he expects some of them, due to their scale, to come out sooner rather than later. He also said that all the projects had found publishers, and some would be downloadable while others would be full-on retail releases.

No confirmation as to whether a Psychonauts sequel is one of the four projects.
