Sony Could Announce PSN+ At E3

by Ben Reeves on May 25, 2010 at 01:55 PM

Rumors that Sony would be releasing a pay service similar to Microsoft’s Xbox Live have been circulating for so long that we’re, quite frankly, tired of hearing about it. However, it sounds like something official could be announced at this year's E3 convention.

According to Joystiq, Sony will reveal an online pay service under the name PSN+. Unlike Microsoft’s service, however, it sounds like non-PSN+ users would still have access to online functionality for most PS3 titles. What’s the point then? Well, it sounds like subscribers of this service would also have access to additional content such as a rotating list of PSP Minis and PSone Classics, exclusive DLC, discounts at the PlayStation Store, and demos of retail titles.

What do you think? Are those bonuses worth an extra premium?
