Capcom Revealing Devil May Cry Sequel At E3?

by Tim Turi on May 19, 2010 at 08:04 AM

Capcom publishes and develops some of the best video game series in the industry; Resident Evil, Mega Man, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, Bionic Commando, Marvel vs. Capcom… the list goes on. According to a recent podcast, Capcom is going to be dropping a huge sequel bombshell at E3.

Capcom’s trust with Western developers has been sketchy in the past, but they’ve publicly stated that no new IPs will be handled by Western devs. The company will be trusting Western developers with established RPs, however. Speaking about the next big Western-developed Capcom sequel on the Weekend Confirmed podcast, Garnett Lee said "Boy, their E3 bombshell puts that to test. I'm not going to spill it because I don't want to make anyone mad, but boy their E3 bombshell puts that to test."

We've got a sneaking suspicion that the news involves a new Devil May Cry game developed by Heavenly Sword developer, Ninja Theory. In Game Informer issue #205, we reported chatter that the Cambridge, England-based studio is being tapped by Capcom to craft Dante's next adventure. Is Ninja Theory the the Western dev that Capcom is "putting to the test?"
