Bethesda's Spreading Across The Globe

by Matthew Kato on Apr 29, 2010 at 01:59 PM

Bethesda Softworks is expanding its worldwide presence and opening new offices in Germany and Paris. The Maryland-based publisher/developer already has offices in London and Tokyo.

The new locations will be responsible for handling the marketing and sales in their respective areas. Frank Matzke heads the Frankfurt, Germany office, and Matzke previously worked as a European vice president for Sierra and marketing director for Vivendi. The Paris branch, meanwhile, will be lead by Julie Chalmette – a general manager for Vivendi Games France. It's good they're now on the same team, as Germany and France historically aren't the best of friends.

Expanding its reach will be good for Bethesda with titles like the id Software-developed Rage, Fallout: New Vegas (shown), and Brink due to come out in the future. "Frank and Julie's extensive knowledge of their territories will help us to maximize and deliver upon these titles' potential," said Sean Brennan, managing director of Bethesda Softworks Europe.
