Overheard: GI Staff Quotables #9
I overhear strange conversations in the office and post them in this blog for your amusement. The rest of the office hates me for it. You're welcome.
A Defense For Sony's Lack Of Backwards Compatibility In Their PS3s

Who Are You? Define Yourself With Gaming Math
"While I was always one of the worst math students of all time, I do like to apply basic math to normal every day things. In my case 'normal' and 'every day' equals video games, so I thought I would share how I do what I call 'video game math' in my head." Andy uses a simple equation to define himself with "gaming math" and encourages you to do the same. For even more musings from Mr. McNamara, check out his latest Letter From the Editor.
Preparing For Red Dead Redemption
One of our community members, Warbuff6644, is rather bummed that RDR has been delayed. As are we. A Game I Wouldn't Mind Seeing: Version 2
It's "Version 2" because Reiner accidentally deleted "Version 1" before anyone got to see it. Anyhoo, ever wondered what Just Cause 2 would look like with dinosaurs?! Yeah?! Reiner pitches his idea for Jurassic Park-style Just Cause 3 with concept art courtesy of one of our designers Jeff A. Avalanche Studios should take note.
What's The Big Deal With Apple?
Community member, Jammin Jones, questions why he should pay for over-hyped, premium Apple products when there are viable, less expensive alternatives out there for similar products. What do you think of his stance?
Ryckert Achievement Scandal
After careful observation of Dan's unusual achievement activity, Reiner realized something was amiss. After thorough investigation it was discovered that roughly 1,500 points of Dan's Gamerscore were not rightfully earned. As a result, Dan has been banned from our vault for 50 days. Even Gearbox's Randy Pitchford expressed his disappointment. Tsk tsk. Read the post for all proceedings (and check out the snazzy commissioner photo). As investigation continued, TheExcitableCheater, er, TheExcitableBoy crafted a formal response to address the situation. Read it here.

Thank you from the Game Informer staff: We just want to thank everyone who voted to help us win a Webby! Voting ends today so please cast your vote. Even if we don't win, it was an honor just to be nominated. No. That's total crap. We're gamers, which make us competitive, which make us want to win! You all help make this site what it is with all of your contributions in the blog space and otherwise, so if Game Informer Online wins, we all win. Our programmer Sean wrote a lovely thank you, which is far better than the text I just spewed. Read it here.
