NPD: Modern Warfare 2 Now Second-Best-Selling Game Ever
We already knew that Activision and Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was an unabashed success and, apparently, "the biggest launch of any form of entertainment since the dawn of mankind." But just how well has the game continued to sell? Uh, pretty well. Today's March NPD release gave us another hint of the shooter's incredible continued success.
Though no specific numbers are provided as of yet, NPD writes that Modern Warfare 2 "is now the second-best-selling game of all time." Just last month, we were informed via a similar statement from NPD that Modern Warfare 2 had taken the number three spot.
What competition does Modern Warfare have yet to get rid of? The crown is currently held by none other than Wii Play. Does this hardcore military shooter have what it takes to dethrone Nintendo's super-successful family-friendly hit?
