Super Street Fighter IV Coming To Arcades, But Not Yours

by Joe Juba on Apr 05, 2010 at 09:01 AM

The Street Fighter series began its legacy in coin-op arcades, and the latest entry will continue that tradition...in Japan. Capcom has announced that Super Street Fighter IV cabinets will eventually make their way into Japanese arcades.

Conspicuously absent in the announcement was any mention of a release timeframe for the SSF IV units, which is interesting considering that the console version will be on retail shelves in a matter of weeks.

The arcade adaptation's Japan-only status will make it difficult to play for those in North America, but not impossible. The original Street Fighter IV never had an official arcade release in the States, but several businesses imported the cabinets.  In this case, though, you may want to save your quarters and just buy your own copy when it hits on April 27.
