Sega Closes Down Iron Man 2 Studio

by Ben Reeves on Apr 02, 2010 at 09:06 AM

Rumors started to circulate earlier this morning that Sega would be closing down its San Francisco based studio – the developer formerly known as Secret Level, which was behind titles like Golden Axe: Beast Rider and the upcoming Iron Man 2. We’ve just confirmed that this rumor is indeed true.

Sega’s official statement reads, “Sega of America is sad to announce the closure of Sega Studios San Francisco. It is an immensely talented studio and we wish all the best to all of the staff in all their future endeavors. Moving forward, Sega will continue to pursue external development opportunities all over the world and will continue to grow the renowned Sega brand.”

Those who were interesting in the teams upcoming project, Iron Man 2, should note that the game is done and is still set to release on May 4th. We'll have our full review of the title available in the coming weeks.

Our best wishes go out to all the people from San Fransico who are now looking for a job. Good luck guys.
