Warner Bros’s New Montreal Studio To Focus on Superheroes

by Ben Reeves on Mar 23, 2010 at 06:48 AM

Turns out that last year's Batman: Arkham Asylum was a boon for Warner Bros. Interactive. Not only was the game critically acclaimed, but it seems to have pushed its publisher towards change. According to Develop-online.net, Warner Bros. has taken note of this success, and will soon be opening a new studio devoted to making games based on DC Comics' characters.

Many of you probably already know that DC Comics is a subsidiary of Warner Bros., so it’s in the company’s best interest to utilize these (mostly) untapped comic properties. We already know that London-based developer Rocksteady Games is working on the next Batman title, so we bet that this new Montreal studio will start working on a Superman, Wonder Woman, or even a Green Lantern game. Our hope is we’ll see a Marvel: Ultimate Alliance-like game staring DC’s heroes. Justice League Heroes was okay, but we think it can be done better.
