Heavy Rain Teases Sequel
After years of anticipation, gamers are finally getting their hands on Heavy Rain today. While beating the game is still several hours away for most people, when you do finish, you may be treated to a little teaser about the next game from Quantic Dream. (This info is kind of a spoiler by nature, but I promise not to ruin any of the main story moments in Heavy Rain)
This happens after the final chapter in the game, but for fear of spoiling anything about those events, I'll just say this: Depending on the choices you make during your playthrough, you may see an epilogue scene with Madison Paige implying that her days investigating serial killers may not be over. A vicious new foe, identified only as Vincent, is introduced as a possible nemesis for Madison in the future. Of course, like many scenes in the game, whether or not you see this exchange depends on your actions; it is only one of several possible epilogues for the character.
This is far from confirmation of a sequel, but it does provide an avenue for Heavy Rain to expand if it is successful. While the characters in the game all have individual story arcs, Madison's profession as a journalist provides fertile ground for more adventures in the universe, whether through full-blown retail releases or episodic DLC.
For those of us who love Heavy Rain's chilling story and unique gameplay, this revelation certainly offers tantalizing possibilities for the future.
