World Of Warcraft Plush Toy Photo Shoot

by Phil Kollar on Feb 18, 2010 at 01:10 PM

It was just last week that Blizzard announced a new line of World of Warcraft plush toys, but we've already received the first two in the office: an adorable Gryphon Hatchling representing the Alliance, and a squeeze-worthy Wind Rider Cub that makes the Horde appear far more cuddly than normal. Check out the story to see some more pictures (including some in-game shots) and info on the toys.

The biggest surprise when I pulled these two out of the classy black sacks that they come packaged in was their size - a full 22 centimeters each. They're bigger and, if possible, softer than I expected. In fact, Blizzard's press release advertises "premium 'SuperSoft' plush material." I'm no toy expert, but whatever these things are made of feels great. Blizzard also notes that these collectibles will only be available for a limited time, so if you're at all interested, you'll want to order them quickly once they're available.

Also of note is that purchasing these plush toys will reward gamers with a code for unlocking in-game, non-combat pet versions of the critters in World of Warcraft. We haven't had a chance to check those out yet, but for those buying the pets from Blizzard, the codes will be printed on the tags attached to the toys. Unlike most other in-game pets, it looks like these will also be able to fly alongside you if you hop on a mount while they're out.

Finally, we couldn't help but end our first ever toy photo shoot by capturing a friendly hug between the two creatures. Perhaps the Horde and Alliance can get along after all?
