Live Anywhere Finally Coming With WP7

by Nick Ahrens on Feb 15, 2010 at 06:40 AM

The Mobile World Conference is underway for 2010 and one of the big announcements from Microsoft was its new Windows Phone 7 device. Sporting a similar design to last year’s Zune HD, WP7 also comes with something you may have forgotten about: Live Anywhere. The new phone system will have support for gamer profiles, avatars, Achievements and even Xbox LIVE games. Not too long ago, the XNA kits that developers use for XBLA included Zune support, which we can only assume will also work here. This means the developers already have the tools and resources to make games for the platform. Not much else is known about the Xbox side of things on the new device, but we'll keep an eye out and update you when things get more interesting.

Look for the Windows Phone 7 this holiday on various carriers in the U.S. (Yay! No lame exclusivity contracts!)
