Red Dead Pre-Order Bonanza
The wait until Red Dead Redemption's April 27 release date is enough to make even the most stoic gunslinger weep like a little girl. But Rockstar is helping to ease the pain a little by announcing the myriad bonuses available to gamers when they reserve the game from various retailers. In fact, if you could fill your six shooter with these pre-order deals, you'd have ammunition to spare. You would also die horribly in a shootout.
Here are the seven different deals, straight from Rockstar's website:
The Golden Guns Pack is available from Amazon, and gives the player more fame for each kill. You'll also get a $10 gift card.
The War Horse gives you a horse (what else) that is "stronger, faster, [and] tougher" than any other horse in the game. I'm not sure what the difference is between "stronger" and "tougher," but it's available from Best Buy.
A mini-guide from Brady Games is the bonus for those who order the game from Game Crazy.
A $5 gift card is available for those who order at Target, while a $10 gift card is available for those who order it from Walmart.
Ordering from the Rockstar Warehouse will net you a Red Dead Redemption T-shirt.
Those who order from GameStop can vote for one of three custom uniforms for the protagonist, John Marston. They are: the Savvy Merchant uniform, which cuts the cost guns and ammunition in half; the Expert Hunter uniform, which doubles the number of skins and hides you get from hunting; and the Deadly Assassin uniform, which regenerates your Dead Eye targeting ability twice as fast. But seriously, who's going to pick a hunter or merchant when you can be a deadly assassin?
Feel free to discuss which deal you like the best, while I end this story with a friendly PSA: Game Informer is a subsidiary of GameStop.
