Kojima Responsible For Most Of Peace Walker's Concepts

by Tim Turi on Jan 25, 2010 at 05:45 AM

Hideo Kojima’s involvement with Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker extends beyond merely associating the veteran game designers name with the title. The man insists that much of the creative juices squeezed into Snake’s latest portable adventure are coming from him.

In a recent interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, Kojima was asked what percentage of Peace Walker's concepts have come from him. In response, Kojima said "Well it's strange, but not so many ideas come from the other staff."

"Co-op Ring, Love Box - the names and the ideas come from myself," Kojima shared. "I am taking charge of the overall game design.”

It’s easy to imagine a figurehead as prominent as Kojima being reduced to a less hands-on roll revolving around d phone-in meetings. The mastermind of Metal Gear’s involvement on Peace Walker comes as a great relief.

Who else is feeling more motivated to check out Peace Walker knowing that so much of what the game is comes from the creator of the series?
