No New Xbox Console Or 360 Pricing

With Microsoft getting ready to release its Natal motion-based peripheral, the company says that it's not planning to release a successor to the Xbox 360 any time soon.

Speaking to UK paper The Guardian, David Hufford, senior director of Xbox product management said that, "the Xbox was designed for a long life, and I don't even know if we're at the midpoint yet." Continuing to downplay the next wave of consoles, Hufford stated, "I think it's important to say that the Xbox 360 is the console of the long future for us. There is no need to launch a new console, because we're able to give this console new life either with software upgrades or hardware upgrades like Project Natal."

Hufford went on to state that the company liked the price point it is at, which seems to shut the door on a price drop for the system.

Even if Natal wasn't coming out this year, it's good to hear that Microsoft, for one, doesn't want to rush its next console out the door. From graphics to feature-set, the Xbox 360 is more than capable of servicing gamers for years.
