Dragon Age Expansion Rumored For March

by Phil Kollar on Jan 01, 2010 at 08:45 AM

Although the first downloadable content for Dragon Age: Origins since the game's release won't be out until next week, rumors are already spreading about an upcoming retail expansions for BioWare's gigantic RPG.

According to a post on Czech site Eurogamer.cz (via Blue's News), a retail expansion for Dragon Age, titled Dragon Age: The Awakening, was briefly listed on an online retailer before being pulled. The report states that the expansion is planned for a March 2010 release and will include a continuation of the game's epic story, a raised level cap, and around 15 hours of gameplay to complete the main story.

Obviously, this is a rumor several times removed from its original source, so it's best to take it with a grain of salt for now. However, if the expansion is real and is really coming in March, we can probably expect an announcement from EA sometime soon.

For the Dragon Age fans in the audience, would you be interested in playing a significant retail expansion of the game? Or would you prefer the additional content stick to smaller add-ons in downloadable form?
