Bearded Guy On Medal Of Honor Cover Is Real?

by Tim Turi on Dec 03, 2009 at 05:40 AM

Yesterday EA’s return to the Medal of Honor was announced to be set in modern day Afghanistan. Cover art for the game was even tossed to curious gamers, and we all pondered about the beastly, bearded man. It turns out the grizzled warrior looks a lot like a real life soldier who goes by “Cowboy.”

Cowboy is a United States Special Forces officer who bears a striking resemblance to the man on the cover. He also appeared in LIFE Magazine in a piece about the war in Afghanistan. If Medal of Honor’s cover dude is in fact based on the man it wouldn’t be too surprising, considering EA worked closely with Special Forces members in an effort to create an authentic experience.

For now the resemblance can only be hashed up as a coincidence. Perhaps more will be revealed in the days to come. The Medal of Honor trailer is set to appear at the 2009 VGAs on December 12, so perhaps we’ll learn more then. Regardless, if there was ever a man who looked like he could actually regenerate his health, it’s Cowboy.
