Dreamcast fanboys dry those eyes and start dusting off your systems; it looks like Sega’s last console will be getting at least one more title. Developer TDGMods is working on a kind of sequel to the 1997 PC release Blood.
This new first-person shooter is called Hypertension, Built using the Hyper3dge engine – a modified version of the original Doom engine – players will be able to control two different characters in a story that spans more than a century. Featuring light RPG elements and many of the weapons and enemies from Blood, Hypertension is set to release sometime in 2010 for PC, Lynux, and Dreamcast.
If you want to see the game in action check out the trailer below. The graphics aren’t much to look at, but this looks like the kind of game we would have played back in 1998. Anyone remember Blood? Was it any good?
lol wut?
My only question is: Why?
wtf is the point?
WTF Dreamcast is an old system
Does anyone's dreamcast still work?
Seriously? WTF is a Dreamcast anymore???
Interesting news. The Dreamcast is still a powerful system for its age.
Is this going to be trend in the future? Dust off that Nintendo R.O.B. kids!
This is really random. I can't believe this developer is actually taking a risk this big....
Odd marketing, but it doesn't hurt, I suppose. Then again, how may people actually HAVE a Dreamcast anymore? :-P
dreamcast? *** is dead!
While we're at it, can we get a movie studio to release something in VHS format? Also, I'd appreciate a nice game on Windows 3.
Why would they go out of their way this long after a system has "died" to make a game for it?
FOR REALS? Who's gonna play this?
I still have my Dreamcast, loved that system. This game kinda reminds me of DOOM.
This is the first time I have ever seen a company revive a console after a decade or more of it being dead.
Why they would do this I have no clue. Well I guess we'll find out how good the sales are when it releases.
lol dude this is hilarious. I'm going to buy this just for the hell of it.
this game looks ugly!
I applaud tdgmods for taking such a bold and risky move. Tell me how it works out...
i never had a dreamcast,my first console was a ps1.why are they making a new game for it?
Well, this is interesting. I was hoping for something grand, but my hopes were dashed in seeing this.
