We were trying to save this nugget for when the magazine hits this coming Monday, but it seems the rumor mill has gotten out of control and it is time to put it in its place. Disney Epic Mickey is indeed a Wii Exclusive. If there is another version in the works out there for another system, we certainly aren't aware of it.
So we can let all the "Game Informer got it wrong" stories sleep. But since we tortured you a bit, we figure we owe you at least one nugget of goodness. If you look closely at the cover on this post, you can see a small figure peeking out - we can confirm that that is indeed Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, and that he plays a major part in the story of Epic Mickey.
Check out the Disney Epic Mickey landing page for updates throughout the month (there is an amazing one tomorrow).
:( was really hoping this hit ps3 and 360, very disappointing.
cool, cause of course i want it on the ps3, but it does give me another reason to own my wii. haha.
Wii owners rejoice! Maybe this will finally give the system some much needed third-party support in the drought of good games for the wii.
Thanks for posting this Andy. I contacted Joystiq so they could set it straight as well after they got the rumor going following 1Up.
It's kind of obvious, since it's going to be painting and stuff.
Disney Okami? :P

Interesting move...
Looks like it's time to start dusting my little white box off then :-)
Extremely disappointing! How is this a nugget of goodness?!
thats really disappointing... I really wanted this on anything but the Wii...
I don't really buy games for my Wii. Simply put, I don't like playing on that console. They really couldn't take the time to develop this for the other two consoles?
I have a Wii, but I have to say I wouldn't mind seeing this on the PS3.
The exclusivity doesn't mollify my excitement for this game, though. I always loved classic Mickey cartoons, and from what I've read, this game is going to be reminiscent of early era Mickey (excluding the giant, ghoulish ink-blots, of course).
this is probably going to be a kids painting game.
I guess it'll get ported to HD consoles if it's actually good.
Geez the hate for the Wii is seething. Good god people, lighten up.
Does this mean Al Michaels is in the game as well Andy?
Mickey's Epic Party confirmed?
Wicked!
Maybe another reason to play my Wii more often...
It looks dark and might be fun, I bought the wii during the first week of launch and played for like 2 hours, wii graphics and wiimote are not for me, a hardcore gamer! Xbox360 for ever and ever!
YAY! I will be using my Wii for more than just weight loss now! :)
I am surprised that it is not coming to PS3 and XBox 360. I am definitely intrigued, but will reserve judgment until further details (screenshots, story synopsis, type of gameplay, etc.) are given. I eagerly await the next issue of GI.
