Celebrate 10 Years Of RE 4 With Features And Video Interviews
10 years ago today, Resident Evil 4 released for the GameCube changing the franchise, the horror genre, and even third-person shooting forever.
Resident Evil 4 appeared on our cover in March 2004, about 10 months before the game made its debut on GameCube. It was part of a Capcom-focused issue which had two covers: one for Resident Evil 4 and one for Killer 7. That issue also offered the first details of the Nintendo DS.
Back in 2012, we did a Replay of Resident Evil 4 with Andrew Reiner, Tim Turi, former editor Dan Ryckert, and his father Paul Ryckert, who doesn't consider himself much of a gamer, but did play and beat Resident Evil 4. You can check out that episode of Replay below.

As part of our coverage of Resident Evil Revelations 2 we had a chance to chat with Yoshiaki Hirabayashi who has worked closely with the Resident Evil series since working on the remake of the original Resident Evil for GameCube. He has a lot to say about the development of Resident Evil 4, its legacy, and working with Resident Evil 4 director Shinji Mikami.
The whole video is interesting, but if you want to jump straight to the Resident Evil 4 part of the interview, you can skip to around the 5:30 mark.

You can also find this feature from former intern Cameron Koch discussing his favorite moment from Resident Evil 4: losing his head.
