Replay – Rising Zan: Samurai Gunman

by Dan Ryckert on May 22, 2010 at 06:30 AM

Odds are, you have never heard of this game. If you haven't, this Replay is for you. Rising Zan: Samurai Gunman was released in 1999 for the PSone, and to this day is one of the most ridiculous games ever made.

You play as Zan (formerly Johnny, now "Johnny No More"), an American cowboy who travels east to learn the way of the samurai. When he returns to the west, he uses his newfound skills to murder ninjas, Russian nesting dolls, sumo wrestlers, and evil crucifixes made of hay. Watch below as myself, Tim Turi, Andrew Reiner, and Bryan Vore play through this brilliantly absurd title. And just try to get the unbelievable theme song out of your head.
